Arches National Park: National Park in UT.

By Nicholas Major · Last updated

Arches National Park is a U.S. National Park Service unit in UT (NPS unit code ARCH), built around the densest concentration of natural sandstone arches on Earth, with the iconic Delicate Arch as its signature feature and the gateway town of Moab as its base. The park recorded 1,511,740 recreation visits in 2025 and runs a 5-year mean of 1,545,166 annual visits. The busiest month is May and the quietest is January; Arches runs a shoulder-season peak in spring rather than summer because June through August brings 95-100°F afternoons at the Moab elevation that make below-rim hikes dangerous in mid-day. NPS has operated a Timed Entry Reservation pilot in recent summers. This page is the navigation anchor for Arches coverage on this site: the best-time-to-visit pillar covers month-by-month crowd, weather, the timed-entry status, monsoon flash-flood timing, and dark-sky windows; the visitation page covers the long-run annual chart through the 2021 record.
