Cuyahoga Valley National Park — National Park in OH.

By Nicholas Major · Last updated

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a U.S. National Park Service unit in OH (NPS unit code CUVA), an urban-adjacent park sitting between Cleveland and Akron along the Cuyahoga River with the 20-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail running through it. The park recorded 3,025,325 recreation visits in 2025 and runs a 5-year mean of 2,857,286 annual visits, most of those repeat regional day-trippers from the Cleveland and Akron metros. The busiest month is July and the quietest is February — the seasonal curve is far flatter than at western parks because no major roads close for winter and the local visitor base sustains year-round demand. Cuyahoga Valley charges no entrance fee. This page is the navigation anchor for Cuyahoga Valley coverage on this site: the best-time-to-visit pillar covers month-by-month crowd, weather, and the seasonal cadence of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad fall foliage trains, Beaver Marsh wildlife windows, and Brandywine Falls; the visitation page covers the long-run annual chart back to the 1979 baseline.
