Standard developed sites
$35/site/night for standard tent or RV sites at the four developed campgrounds. Exact site and booking charges govern.
Eligible pass discounts
$17.50/site/night with eligible California Disabled Discount or federal Senior/Access passes; California Distinguished Veterans Pass holders camp free. Show the eligible pass.
Backcountry permits
The backcountry permit is free. Gold Bluffs Beach hike/bike camping has a separate $5/person/night charge; do not confuse a free permit with a free developed campsite.

Choose the campground, site type and travel dates before opening the booking page.
Developed campgrounds
Use ReserveCalifornia and search the campground name, such as Jedediah Smith, rather than “Redwoods.” Reservations are strongly recommended in summer.
Backcountry permits
Request a free permit online up to 160 days ahead and at least 24 hours before your trip. Read the permitted route and campsite rules.
Choose a compatible site
Read the site dimensions and access road limits. A campground maximum does not guarantee that every site fits your vehicle.

Know the camp rules
Plan for the park’s normal camping rules. Official conditions carry restrictions for your travel dates.
No trailers to Gold Bluffs
Davison Road has strict vehicle limits. Trailers are prohibited, and NPS advises against RV access.
Protect the trees
Do not attach hammocks or ropes to park trees. Tent-only sites may require carrying gear from parking.
Food and fires
Use the required food storage and campground fire facilities. Check live fire restrictions before travel.
Camping outside the park
Compare the park’s gateway areas first, then confirm nearby campground seasons, fees and equipment rules with the operator.
Crescent City
Use the northern base for Jedediah Smith and Del Norte Coast areas. Check the route to each grove.
Klamath
A US 101 base near the middle of the park corridor. Inland and coastal roads have different conditions.
Orick
Use the southern approach for Prairie Creek and nearby redwood walks. Davison Road and Fern Canyon need separate access checks.

How do I reserve a developed Redwood campsite?
Use ReserveCalifornia and search the campground by name. The four developed campgrounds are managed by California State Parks, not booked as federal Recreation.gov campgrounds.
Are tent campsites cheaper than RV sites at Redwood?
The published standard price is $35/site/night for tent or RV sites. Site types and vehicle limits still differ; check the selected booking total.
Is backcountry camping free at Redwood?
Backcountry permits are free and required. The Gold Bluffs Beach hike/bike site has a separate $5/person/night camping fee.
Can I bring a trailer to Gold Bluffs Beach?
No. Trailers are prohibited on Davison Road and at the campground. NPS advises against RV access on the narrow dirt road.
