The Discover Pass does not work here
Washington State Parks and Mount Rainier use different passes. A Washington Discover Pass does not pay Mount Rainier admission.
Climbing adds two separate charges
Pay climbing registration before arriving. Overnight climbs also need a wilderness permit, with its own reservation and nightly charges.

Park entrances and campgrounds accept electronic payment. NPS lists nearby businesses that sell seven-day vehicle passes for cash, including outlets in Ashford and the Packwood Visitor Center.
Save your entrance voucher
Printed vouchers are preferred for standard entry. A printed or downloaded digital voucher is required to collect an annual pass or upgrade a single-vehicle pass.

Climbing and wilderness camping have separate charges. The Washington Discover Pass does not cover entrance.

How much does it cost to enter Mount Rainier?

Does Mount Rainier charge the $100 nonresident fee?
No. Mount Rainier is outside the NPS list of parks charging the additional nonresident fee. Nonresidents pay the standard entrance fee.
Does the Washington Discover Pass cover Mount Rainier?
No. The Discover Pass is for Washington State Parks. Use a Mount Rainier entrance pass or a valid federal recreation pass.
Is climbing included in the entrance fee?
No. Each climber must pay the climbing registration fee before arriving. Overnight trips also need a wilderness permit.
