Things to do in summer

Choose a lower-elevation or high-country outing for the actual conditions.

Paradise meadows

Walk established trails for the flower display. The meadows are fragile; do not leave the path for photographs.

Sunrise and Naches Peak

The area offers midsummer flowers when access and snow conditions permit. Check the road and trail before choosing the outing.

Reflection Lakes

Use Stevens Canyon Road only when available for your date. The lakes offer a possible mountain reflection, not a weather guarantee.

Get oriented for summer

Choose the Paradise–Longmire side or the Sunrise side before fixing your overnight base.

Getting around in summer

Check the seasonal access and equipment decisions before fixing the route.

Match the hike to the snowline

A summer calendar does not mean every meadow trail is snow-free. Check trail reports and stay on established paths.

Choose one park side

Paradise and Sunrise have separate approaches. Confirm the roads needed before reserving your overnight base.

Where to stay in summer

Choose the park side first, then compare a year-round room with a seasonal inn.

  • National Park Inn at Longmire

A year-round room base in the lower Longmire area. Confirm your booking and the road approach.

  • Paradise Inn

A seasonal higher-elevation choice. Confirm the operator’s actual dates before booking.

Camping Campgrounds have separate seasonal calendars. Confirm a campground and its approach; a room-season date does not establish camping availability.
